Need Knows no Season
April 19, 2004
Dear Friends,
Our dream is becoming reality! On Thursday, April 8, 2004, we broke ground for our new state of the art day care center at 20 Miner Street.
We were honored to have with us the Michael Ryan, Narragansett Electric (Campaign Chairman) the Most Reverend Robert Mulvee, Bishop of Providence,
John Holt, Executive Minster, RI Council of Churches, Deimis Murphy, Executive Director, United Way of Southern New England, John Pagliarini, representing
Senator Lincoln Chafee, Serena Conley, Community Relations Director representing Mayor David Cicilline and others.
Michael Ryan summed up the campaign saying "it is about the children". For many years, The Salvation Army has provided safe affordable quality child care to
neighborhood children and will continue with its mission.
Please accept my sincere thanks for your support. While we are looking at a shortfall of $750,000, we continue to move forward. I will keep you informed as the progress
of the building moves forward. If you would like to tour the building or bring a friend it would be our pleasure to accommodate.
Sincerely,
Robert Pfeiffer, Mayor Rhode Island State Coordinator
